One thing a Visionary Troubadour does is cross pollinate the visionary communities he comes across. Like a bee who has visits flower after flower, pollinating the flowers without intending to, the VT pollinates various communities both intentionally and unintentionally with ideas, connections, senses of life, etc.
On my travels back in 2008, I spent 2 days with visionary, Jim Channon, who later became the inspiration for the Hollywood film, Men Who Stare At Goats. The movie doesn’t portray Jim’s genius and practical visionary skill sets, nor what he’s done since his time with the First Earth Battalion. In Jim’s video below, he uses his artistic schematic to paint a vision for the kind of intentional paradise bioregions so many of us desire to be a part of. While the video may seem like a “nice idea,” Jim lives it on the Big Island in Hawaii.
I’ve been talking to folks who are interested in adventures, which include visiting various intentional, sustainable communities in the Americas, and I’m seriously considering offering these trips as a business proposition, which will also include aspects of the gift economy. More details to come.
